Kaiser High School

Girls Locker Room

“One team, one family, Cougar Nation.” The design theme is “achievement through ‘Ohana”; the spaces reinforce team spirit and inspire student development in both academic and athletics. The overall design provides a modern and efficient facility with a strong identity that cultivates the Kaiser High School ‘Ohana. Graphics, color palette and patterns reflect the Cougars’ logo.

Embracing HI-CHPS concepts, the facility has spaces that are healthy, comfortable, efficient and safe. The design incorporates intelligent lighting that optimizes the necessary amount of natural and artificial light while reducing energy use when lights are not necessary. Photovoltaic panels generate energy while a “cool” roof maintains comfortable indoor temperature free from excessive heat gain. Using passive, natural ventilation provides students with constant fresh air and consistent temperature control within the building. The efficiency of the overall facility improves the performance of the building while reducing operational costs to the school district.
