ARCHITECTURAL STAFF LEVEL II (nonlicensed)

InForm Design's office located near Ala Moana Center is seeking a Architectural Staff Level II (nonlicensed) to join our highly innovative and talented team. Responsible for specific technical design aspects of an assigned major project, including investigation, evaluation and recommendation of design solutions that best meets the client’s needs.

EDUCATION

Professional degree in Architecture and at least six years of related experience preferred. Responsible for specific technical design aspects of an assigned major project, including investigation, evaluation and recommendation of design solutions that best meets the client’s needs.

Provides professional architectural consultation in the planning, design and coordination of large complex projects. Independently applies advanced architectural concepts and designs. Carries out complex or novel assignments requiring the development of new or improved techniques and procedures. May provide technical guidance to less experienced architects/architectural staff.

Prepares complex drawings and makes revisions to drawings under minimal supervision. Performs a variety of complicated tasks. May mentor less experienced technicians. A wide level of independent judgment is expected.

Familiar with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices and procedures to the completion of difficult assignments. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. May have knowledge of and apply engineering concepts and practices in their work.

Knowledge of local and national building codes including IBC, BOCA, ADA, NFPA, etc.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Using CAD technology design and prepare detailed working construction and as built plans, charts and/or scale drawings for complex projects from observation, measurements, sketches, other drawings and specifications.

  • Manipulate and integrate drawings received from consultants and other sources.

  • Interface with other people to obtain details of equipment and materials requirements.

  • Work closely with architects and engineers during all project phases with ability to understand basic scope of project information

  • Provides limited design on documents and details design documents with input from architects/engineers.

  • Make corrections and produce final Construction documents for architect and engineer review.

  • Check for integration of sections and coordination of disciplines.

  • Reproduces documents upon request.

  • Ability to adequately perform basic site measuring/inspection

  • Perform other related duties as assigned including some general firm administrative activities

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to manage priorities with various project leaders and consistent workflow

  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities

  • Familiarity with construction standards and terminology

  • General working knowledge in the use of CAD Software – Autodesk CAD/Revit

  • Maintain knowledge of industry and developing technologies

  • Have an acute attention to details

  • Team oriented problem solving

  • Some Daily or overnight travel

  • Ability to:

  • Follow direction from Architects/Project Managers

  • Complete assigned work within specified time

  • Ability to understand and follow the firm’s data filing and storage protocols

  • Knowledge of local and national building codes including IBC, BOCA, ADA, NFPA, etc.

  • Timely error free and complete assigned work
